Summer Vacation
Due to extreme heat wave in the month of May and June in West Bengal, Government declare Summer Vacation in all schools considering the situation.
All Schools with the exception of those in hill areas of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts, are hereby closed due to prevailing heat wave situation with effect from 17th April, 2023 for one week.
Summer Vacation which has already been started w.e.f 19th May 2016 will continue upto 11th June, 2016 and all schools will reopen on 13 June, 2016.
Due to heat wave and prevailing situation, it is advised to declare summer vacation in the schools under your administrative control with effect from 2nd May, 2022 till 15th June, 2022.
Summer Vacation is declared in schools due to heat wave and prevailing situation on and from 2nd May, 2023 until further instructions except for the schools in hill areas of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts.
In view of the present heat wave prevailing over almost the entire State it has been decided to further extend the summer vacation till 17.06.2012.
Due to predicted severe cyclonic storm Foni likely to hit coastal areas of West Bengal and extreme hot weather conditions prevailing in the State, classes will remain suspended in all Govt., Govt. Sponsored and Non-Govt. aided schools from 3rd May, 2019 to 30th June, 2019.
Considering the changed weather conditions, it has been decided that all schools will remain closed upto 08.06.2019 and will open on 10.06.2019. Similar action is recommended for all un-aided schools also.
The distribution of Mid Day Meal would continue in all the schools maintaining all COVID-19 norms and protocols as is done during COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to heat wave and prevailing situation summer vacation shall begin in all schools on and from 20.04.2021 until further order.
Summer vacation has been rescheduled and will start from 2nd May, 2014 and will end on 31st May, 2014 because of prevailing heat wave across the State.
