Dear mihiracharya,
….Whether we get salary and other benefit from the Govt.,normally we say (use),we are in “Govt. aided schools”.
Yes, that’s why I commented that
….The term is loosely used. It’s a very common mistake…..
My intention was to remove the conflict in the use of the terms “Non-Govt. aided” and “Govt aided”. I stressed on the terms “Govt.” and “Non-Govt.” and not on “Recognized” simply because it’s needless to say that a school which receives govt. aid is a “recognized” educational institution. There is no doubt in it. Actually, I had no confusion in the use of the appropriate term “Recognized Non-Govt. aided school”. I reiterate that the term “Govt. aided” is not appropriate. It’s a common mistake which is done unknowingly!
Anyway, I have failed to locate the term “Govt. aided” in the text of the DI’s Notice and earlier G.O.s as referred to by you. Instead, I have found the term “non-Govt.”. Pls see the following para extracted from the said Notice:
According to ROPA-2009, the ceiling of HRA drawn by Husband and Wife (together) where both are teaching/non-teaching employees or one of them is a teaching/non-teaching employees of an approved non-Govt./approved educational institutions including libraries and employees of District Primary Educational Council and other spouse is an employees of a State Govt./Central Govt./Public undertakings/Local Bodies etc. raised to Rs. 6000/- per month [Ref. G.O. No. 538-SE , dt. 24.10.2007 and G.O. No. 46-SE , dt. 27.02.2009].
Pls find the appropriate term in ROPA and the Notification (for conversion of schools) etc. as such documents are repeatedly checked and verified by several experts including legal experts before notification. Each and every word, punctuation marks etc. in such documents have significance and, therefore, are used with utmost care and caution. A slight misuse of the term may twist the original sense/provision, leading to controversy!
With regards, -
