Just heard that teachers doing B.Ed. in ODL mode from NSOU will not be eligible to apply for M.Ed. or can’t apply for H.M. post.
Is it a rumour?September 18, 2013 at 12:45 pm #78677AnonymousInactiveDear Friend,
The process or system etc. is nothing. However after completion of the course (ODL) the teachers will get obviously a certificate/degree named B.Ed. Such degree should be equivalent to B.Ed Degree. Is not it?
If the govt. of W.B. ( Department of school education) continues such course as B.Ed ( there is not mentioned it by any others name), why that such degree holder can not enhance his/her degree in future or apply for the post of H.M. from W.B.?
Thanks a lot.September 19, 2013 at 11:19 am #78685AnonymousInactiveNo such G.O. has yet been published by the WBSED.

[source The Bartaman, dated 19/9/2013 page-6 : heading: High court didn’t accept open university degree{মুক্ত বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সায় দিল না কোর্ট}] I think Amitava’s post my be connected with that news. And we need more discussion. The news may be seen in the link:
September 20, 2013 at 4:26 pm #78698AnonymousInactiveNCTE has already been given their assent for ODL B.Ed course through NSOU. Course curriculum is at per with the standard mentioned by NCTE. But the question is, those teachers belong to HS category are eligible for this course? We got some news that some teachers of HS section got admitted and attend classes. This is a big question. Because, as per my knowledge is concerned NCTE gave their nod only because West Bengal has a good number of untrained teachers. As Per RTE Act 2009 they must be qualified within 31st March 2015. As this act is meant upto upper primary level that’s why, only upper primary teachers are eligible for this course. But a very recent circular from Jt. Commissioner of School Education states that if some seats remain vacant after the admission of all untrained teachers the seats may be filled up by teachers belong to HS section. Really confusing………..
September 21, 2013 at 3:33 pm #78702AnonymousInactivePlease clerify that…..”In terms of G.O. No. 715-SE(EE)/PTTI-7/2011(Part-I) Dated 19.07.2013 of the
Joint Secretary, School Education Department, Government of West Bengal
following candidates will not be eligible for registration:-
1) Non teaching staff including librarian and clercical personnel.
2) Para Teachers and other Contractual Teachers.
3) Teaching in Secondary and Higher Secondary classes (Class – IX to XII).”
So I want to know that Whether the teacher of H.S. section is eligible for admission for ODL or not. Is there any chance to complete B.Ed beside ODL ?
Please help me .October 11, 2013 at 7:57 pm #78806AnonymousInactivepls upload some needful info regarding this matter
