During the regime of Late Jyoti Basu a committment was given by the State of West Bengal that henceforthe the employees of the State will get the equal Dearness Allowance with that of the Central Government. The system started and is almost continuing till to day though in a lame style. Can any one tell whether any G.O had been issued in this respect by the then State Government? If so kindly post it at this forum to initiate some positive action. Persons dying after taking poisonous liquor and burning in fire like AMRI are getting fat compensation at the cost of the tax payers and the tax payers are suffering without a word. Some where at some time it has to be ventilated. Kindly help.

This kind of comparison will only show your post albeit well intended in a poor light. Please do not take offense, I post this considering the sensitive nature of the issue. The families of the departed souls are still to come into terms to the untimely bereavement in their family.

September 22, 2012 at 6:44 am #74331AnonymousInactive…………………..Persons dying after taking poisonous liquor and burning in fire like AMRI are getting fat compensation at the cost of the tax payers and the tax payers are suffering without a word. @adil85
Whether those fellows have received any compensation from the state govt.? Pls furnish the details.September 22, 2012 at 12:33 pm #74339AnonymousInactiveSo far as my knowledge goes and as per newspaper report, the kin of 29 victims of AMRI incident has got the compensation amounting Rs. 3,00,000/- each in last January, but the compensation amount given by the AMRI authority not accepted by the government and probably that amount still lying with the High Court,

In the Sangrampur poisonous liquor case the compensation is withheld due to 3 Public Interest Litigation filed before the Calcutta High Court.

It is not fair. People who were charred to death were mostly from the upper class income group. I thank the well wishers for ignoring the livings and supporting the departed souls. Compensation does not bring back the life. But DA infuses life in the living deads.
