My wife is a teacher of a HS School . She attended the school last on 19th October (Panchami) and the school holiday started from 20th Oct(SAsthi). The school re opened for Four days – 7th to 10th Nov. My wife’s date of delivery was on the date of reopening of the school i.e. 7th nov…My question is from which date will her maternity leave start ? Is there any GO which suits this specific case ?
Regards

Will you not apply for her maternity leave?
Acc. to your statement her maternity leave was start from 7th Nov’12.December 20, 2012 at 3:47 pm #76080AnonymousInactiveSince your wife attended the school on the 19th Oct, i.e. the day before the holiday started, she can apply for the Maternity leave from the 7th Nov,2012. She may however, apply for that leave from any other subsequent date as Maternity leave may be combined with leave of any other kind (other than CL), but in that case she will have to apply for any other kind of leave (Commuted or Earned) for the period from 7th November to the date before the date of commencement of maternity leave.
December 20, 2012 at 4:33 pm #76084AnonymousInactiveThanks Torkona and Mr. A Ray for the quick reply..actually she has already applied for that leave but her HM told her not to mention any date in the application , and now she is saying that the maternity leave will start from 20th october …..thats why i am asking to know from which date it will start…??
December 20, 2012 at 4:40 pm #76085AnonymousInactiveIn the given case, it will start from the 7th of November, 2012. 20th October to 6th November was holiday for her, not leave.
December 21, 2012 at 3:04 pm #76119AnonymousInactiveThank You Mr Ray ..but the HM is not hearing that ..according to her the leave will start from 20th oct,,,?? so we are very confused.
December 22, 2012 at 10:02 am #76109AnonymousInactivePlease see the manual, go through this link, see the attachment “Meternity Leave 02”, Question No.- 35, at present the said leave is 180 days, acc. to this rule if someone’s date of delivery is falls in a long holiday then also she will get her maternity leave from that day not from beginning of the holiday.
