Re: Duties and Responsibilities of Group D Staff of High Sch
There is no mention particular duties of a Gr.D staff. (1) He rings the bell, (2) acts like a peon,(3) obeys the H.M.’s order, for example, you are in a class, then a notice may reached to you to deliver the students, to collect/buy stamps or to drop letters,to buy stationery goods, to do a xerox, (3) to go any of the offices to serve a letter from H.M.,(4) stamps on answer sheet, supply the loose sheet, stapler etc.etc. thousand of works, in a word,he should perform his duties as allotted by the H.M. An energetic Gr.D moves like a top/lattoo.
But we should remember that we can not give order to do our personal work. He brings our water in a jug, pot, bucket of course but not serve a glass of water to your table. It may happened to the case of the H.M. But he is also not bound to marketing for the H.M.
        ……………………………..
Dear friend, remember that, one day, the school may run by the absence of an or more than one asst. teacher, but the absence of a Gr. D, it is very painful and more difficult to run the normal activities, smooth sailing of the school.
        ………………………………
I have left my previous school from 07/07/2011. But till today, when I go there, the Gr. D appears with a glass of water without asking to do so.( I can not drink water from a jug or bottle)
        ……………………………..
****You can not run your office/school smoothly by the CIRCULAR, but can by LOVE.
        ……………………………..
It is a very personal remark- I have said, usually say to my Gr. D ( will be retired on March,2013), ” IF YOU NOT BECAME A GR.D, THEN I WOULD PRONAMS TO YOU. Every work (expect taught to the students) he does! He did not say,Sir, I can not do this. He is so sincere.
How it can possible? Don’t mind, by the magic of a word “LOVE”, to show by the sympathetic behaviour, speech etc.

Re: Duties and Responsibilities of Group D Staff of High Sch
Thank you Mihirbabu. First of all I am not an H.M. I am just one of the A.T. of our school. Secondly, I never expect a glass of water from an collegue by order or otherwise. But I like to say something about our school. Our school is an newly upgraded H.S. school with one nearly inactive H.M., one permanent science teacher (myself) one english, two bengali, hist, geo, w.ed., p.ed. one each, three para-teachers one clerk, two gr.D…. How do you feel when after taking three of four consecutive classes you will return to staff room and then you will see the water jug is void and one of the gr. D staff is drowsing, and if you ask him “ki Korchhen”, You will get the answer “ki korbo”. This is the tragedy. He is a permanent late comer. Of course his jounier does most of the work. But now a days he also going to follow the senior.
Sorry for the discussion of my own institution.
Thanks to all of the members of wbxpress family.

The H.M. ought to remote/ regulate/supervise the matter of course. You may discuss it in the meeting of Staff Council to repair/execute/perform the duties of that particular Gr.D. And then bring it to the notice of the M.C.
            Thank you.

Re: Duties and Responsibilities of Group D Staff of High Sch
I do not support this. But necessity knows no law, even in absent of Gr-D staff Teachers are ring the school bell. But cleaning of class rooms is a part of W.E and P.T class, in many School students are clean their class rooms.
Sorry I’m yet not seen any G.O regarding the nature of works of Gr-D staff, but by manual M.C will fixed that job according to the need of school.

Is it right to clean the class rooms regularly by the students? The guardians are not agree in this mater. In the gaurdian meeting most of the gaurdian protests the same. If it is not the duties of gr D, then why it is the duties of the students? It is also my question?

Re: Duties and Responsibilities of Group D Staff of High Sch
What is the difference between “Duty and Responsibility”?
I don’t say it is a duty of Student. But it is a part of social work (W.E). If some students (guardian) are unwilling to do so then no problem.
In my post I have not mention the terms: “duty” of students, “regularly” (and “all” schools). Why you misinterpret my post, by introducing some own words?
I don’t say, bringing a glass of water for his/her teacher is a duty!
Why we say, “This School is your, and it’s your ‘duty’ to keep it clean”. Any way if some of the students are unwilling to make his/her school clean (if there is no other reason), then we are responsible for that situation.
In our school, in every Friday (in long tiffin) students are rotationally (Roll no.: 1-10, 11-20, 21-30,…,…) do this ‘job’ by thinking the classroom is a room of his/her home.

How it can possible? Don’t mind, by the magic of a word “LOVE”, to show by the sympathetic behaviour, speech etc.

                            Dear Sir,
According to report from school service commission maximum Group D are recruited through SSC this year are either Graduate or master degree holder. Their post is Group D peon. They dont know that what are their duties and responsibilities?
                            Can anybody clear their answer?
They are peon of school. Why they will bring water, tea, smoking item etc. for teachers and head of the institution?
                            please reply properly.

Nothing is mention in manual regarding the nature of works of Gr.-D, also acc. to manual MC will fixed their works acc. to the need of the school (not for personal one).

The rule is about recruitment of group D,not about the duties of group D.
