EOL withot lien

Can an employee join his earlier office, if he is granted EOL without lien , for 3 years, to pursue higher studies ? Pl. provide necessary G.O

If the EOL is granted through proper channel, then after enjoy the leave, of course the employee will join in his/her previous service very next day completion of EOL.
