As per FD Memo No. 10826 dated 18.11.2002, certain points regarding drawal of HRA clarified.3. If husband and wife of an employee has been allotted accommodation at the same station or nearby by the State Govt., Central Govt., an Autonomous Public Undertakings or Semi Govt. Organisations such as Municipality, Corporation, Port Trust, etc. whether H.R.A. is admissible to him/her if he/she resides in that accommodation or resides separately in accommodation rented by him/her.

I Think ‘Both reside in a same place’ means not in their own house or any. H.R.A. will not applicable if they reside

MEMORANDUM
The undersigned is directed to request all Groups/Branches and Cells of this Department to inform the employees of their respective Groups/Branches and Cells to submit declaration in respect of House Rent Allowance drawn by the wife/Husband of the employee who is in service under the Government of India, or any State Government or any Government Undertaking or any Statutory or Local Body, Educational Institutions etc.
The declarations in plain paper to be submitted to Group-H collectively within 27-12-99 stating the following information.
(a)Name and address of office : of the spouse.
(b)present basic pay per mensem : of the spouse as on 1st January/ 1st July.
(c) House Rent Allowance drawn by the spouse per mensem as on 1st Jan/ 1st July.
(d) House Rent/Rented value of : the Building as on 1st Jan./1st July.
This declaration regarding H R.A. is to be submitted half-yearly for 1st January and 1st July of every year.

Husband is working as a Medical officer at NRS, Kolkata. He is not residing at Govt Qtr. due to unavailability. Her wife is residing at the Govt Qtr. of Atghoria BPHC, Kalna – I, Burdwan and not drawing the HRA. Will Husband get HRA ? Please help me along with the G.O.if possible. -
