Dear All,
I need an urgent help oh HRA issue relevant to this current thread topic. Please help me with your valuable suggestion.
I need to know the admissible HRA the wife in the following case can draw:
1) The husband works in a central government office at Durgapur, WB.
2) The wife works in a school at Shaktigarh, WB.
3) The husband has taken a government quarter at Durgapur and does not draw HRA.
4) The wife stays at her own flat at Uttarpara, WB (not on rent) from where she makes daily journey to her school at Shaktigarh.
5) The distance between Durgapur and Uttarpara is 155KM
Please let me know if any further information is required. Thanks in advance.

sir, thanks a lot for this information.. No, she is not allotted any Quarter. Sir, please be kind enough to provide me the respective GO in pdf, where this “distance factor” is mentioned, as I will provide such in her office.
regardsJune 15, 2016 at 8:11 am #81598AnonymousInactiveIf the husband has been given govt allotted accommodation but the husband has retired from service and has kept the house on extension while the wife resides separately in a private self owned house, is she entitled to HRA?? . please note that both husband and wife are central govt employees.
July 17, 2016 at 6:08 am #81696AnonymousInactiveYou have filled up the HRA form with a misconception. Since your wife is working in private sector the HRA paid to her should not be taken into account. Get it rectified as soon as possible else you will face various problems in future.
Regards,
digitaldocWith reference to the above discussion,I got to know something regarding this HRA rule of the WB govt.which as follows:
I work for a private sector bank which has no connection with government and eligible for HRA as per my company’s HR rule.My wife is an AT of a Government sponsored school under WB govt and was eligible for HRA from start of her career since 2002.However,in 2013 she had filled up HRA declaration form at her school stating that spouse (here it means Me) is eleigible for HRA of Rs.5500 from his bank. After this declaration,my wife’s eligible HRA is being scaled off since then and she is getting her salary without HRA still today.Request you to know what is the actual rule in this case?I think I being a private sector employee, got seperate entity so my wife’s HRA rule(govt.made) should not be mixed with mine and think she is eligible for the same which at present she is not getting. Please guide us on this issue.July 17, 2016 at 10:29 am #81698AnonymousInactiveYes, your wife is not eligible to get HRA as per rule. The sealing is fixed at Rs. 6000/- per month. But you can draw any amount of HRA, if the HRA Rule of your Bank permits.

July 29, 2016 at 9:32 am #81735AnonymousInactiveIf a person continues to withdraw HRA while staying at spouse’s allotted quarter for 7 years, then what is the procedure of returning the amount withdrawn?if the person has 4yrs of service left and no longer resides in the quarter then can he get it deducted each month?
