Friends,
Can a school teacher may get a leave of two months at a stretch to take part in a ‘talent hunt’ like show / national level competition organized by the non-govt TV channels now a days? Is there any way out to get a leave of two months combining CL, ML, Half average pay and others? May he use ‘leave without pay’ ? Does ‘leave without pay’ means break of service? Please clarify the matter. Thanks in advance.
Dear Banibrata, thanks for your post. I do not have complete idea about this type of case. However, I’ll like to clarify some points: 1. “combining CL” – did you mean CL = casual leave or CL= commuted leave.? Casual leave is not possible to combine with any other kind of leave. You may get Commuted leave or Half pay leave or Leave with out pay. I wonder how you can get ML for this purpose! (Even if you hide the purpose, your show will be telecasted all over India… you and the doctor who may issue medical certificate may be in trouble) 3. Leave with out pay Does not mean break of service if these leaves are sanctioned by the authority but if not sanctioned it may be break of service.
However as leave is not a matter of Right… generally admissibility depends upon the authority…
Besides you may also take permission for attending a TV show.
Are you a primary teacher or a high school teacher and what is your service length?
At first sorry for being late in replying. Thanks for your discussion. I meant CL for casual leave. And it is my fault to bring Medical Leave in same line ( had put all types of leaves in a hurry ). Thanks for reminding me of its serious consequences. Again thanks a lot for your suggestion of going through the concerned authority taking legal permission for attending the show.
I am a High School Teacher and have completed 5 years of service. However, I am not attending the show. This query was from one of my colleague who is going to attend her show.
