Big Hospitals in Kolkata like Apollo Gleneagles also paying very cheap salary for Nurses. In kerala itself now as per the Belram Committee Report, the minimum salary for an entry level Nurses should be 12900, apart from the Night Shift allowance and other double duty allowances. This salary is suggested based on studing the present Job nature and pressure involved in it. But in Kolkata, Nurses who came from Kerala are being paid with a salary of 8000-9000 Rupees only. where Hospitals like Kolkila Dhirubhai Ambani Hospitals in Mumbai pays 14500 for Nurses on entry level. Both Hospitals are JCI Certified International accredited one, and charging almost same from patients for treatments and other consultations. And also the Doctors are being paid well in these hospitals. They know the need of a Nurse in a Hospital. and without them no Hospitals can operate well. Nurses are being called as the Back Bone of any Hospitals. But they are not getting good wages. They used to work for 10-16 Hours without having a tea or food. They used to work for 12 hours night shift for minimum of 14 days in a month. They care and do all the things needed for a patient, from giving medicine, documentation, lifting, feeding, bathing, medical Procedures, other Hospital process documentation for JCI accreditation, Beadpan, shaving, cleaning, etc.. etc.. And the result .. they are not getting an uneducated layman’s salary.. they are being paid with 250-300 rupees for 12-16 hours daily duty and in a month 14 days night shift duty for 12 hours, for this also the daily salary remains the same. and they will be allocated with 6-7 patients in a Shift !! Now most of the Nurses are frustrated with their Job and they are resigning or abscounting from Hospitals and going to their native place (Kerala – Since 85% of Nurses are from Kerala) where they will get a salary of 9000-12000. Seems like soon the Hospitals will face a huge shortage of Nurses if they are going like this way. Hospitals has to consider them as they are professional. IF THEY ARE GETTING A SALARY OF 9000-12000 IN HAND FROM THEIR NATIVE PLACE WHY SHOULD THEY CONTINUE WITH A LESS SALARY JOB IN KOLKATA ??? HOSPITALS ARE NOT CONSIDERING THE EMPLOYEE SATISFACTION ! ONLY PATIENT SATISFACTION ! HOW CAN AN UN-SATISFIED EMPLOYEE LIKE NURSES CAN CONTRIBUTE THEIR 100% OF EFFORT AND CARE TO A PATIENT TO GET SATISFIED ?? NO WAY ? FINALLY A PATIENT WILL NOT GET SATISFIED WITH THE HOSPITAL TREATMENT AND CARE AND THAT WILL AFFECT THE HOSPITAL ONLY !! IT’S TIME FOR HOSPITALS LIKE APOLLO AND B.M BIRLA HOSPITALS TO THINK WISELY AND SOLVE THE NURSES CONCERNS AND PROVIDE THEM THEIR ELIGIBLE SALARY !!
