Plz give me some information on the following topic – How many casual leaves can one wb govt. aided school teacher take in a session ( Jan to Dec ) if she enjoyed six month maternity leave on the same session ? Is it 14 or 7 ? Is there any circular or rules ?
September 18, 2012 at 3:44 am #74225AnonymousInactiveDuring the period of any kind of leave excepting the leave on which the employee dont get any pay, the other leave account of the employee will not affect. Example 1: someone was on medical leave for 1 month, he/she will avail casual leave for 14 days, the number of casual leave shall remain unchanged. Example 2: Someone was on extraordinary leave without pay for 4 months during a calender year, he/she will avail casual leave 14/12X8 = 9.33 rounded to 10 days. So the employee will get full 14 days casual leave during the calender year on which she avail maternity leave. Please note that casual leave cant be combined with any other kind of leave. I invite more interaction of other members.

September 18, 2012 at 4:27 am #74227AnonymousInactiveDear brother Som,
For the information to you and other members of this community, as in my department
(Home -Police) we may enjoy “Permission Leave” with Casual Leave, with prior appruval of the authority on Saturday, Sunday and on other Government declared holidays. PL could be availed with CL as suffix or prefix of CL – not in between of that.September 18, 2012 at 8:52 am #74236AnonymousInactive………..Someone was on extraordinary leave without pay for 4 months during a calender year, he/she will avail casual leave 14/12X8 = 9.33 rounded to 10 days. So the employee will get full 14 days casual leave during the calender year on which she avail maternity leave. ………
Self-contradictory statements! If an employee is eligible to get full 14 days CL in a year, how can he be granted only 10 CLs for remaining 8 months after continuously availing of 4 months Extraordinary/Meternity Leaves. What about the remaining 4 days! Lost! I think he is eligible for all the 14 CLs in the remaining 8 months but in different spells (not continuously more than 6 days in a weak for teachers).
What is the govt. rule/ order in support of your CL calculation like “14/12X8 = 9.33 rounded to 10 days”? Kindly refer at the earliest for our benefit. This method of distribution of CL is new to me!September 18, 2012 at 1:34 pm #74237AnonymousInactiveI think mr som is correct. Maternity leave is not extraordinary leave and hence it will not affect the other leave. However, I have not much idea about extra ordinary leave without pay. But a female teacher who has availed maternity leave will get all her 14 CL for that year.
September 18, 2012 at 2:55 pm #74239AnonymousInactiveDear Mr. Roy,
I did not say that CLs cannot be taken in the remaining part of the year if extra ordinary leaves are already taken. Except CL all other leaves can be combined. My question was why an employee can’t get all the 14 CLs if he/she has already availed of continuous spell of extra ordinary leaves?September 18, 2012 at 4:51 pm #74243AnonymousInactiveMy question was why an employee can’t get all the 14 CLs if he/she has already availed of continuous spell of extra ordinary leaves?
As far as I know, extra-ordinary leave may be granted under the existing rules but will not be eligible for counting of service and will not earn leave for that period. I shall try to provide you supporting documents in this regard.

Whethe ther is any rule that provides month-wise sharing of CLs as shown by you? I am interested to know!
