    Hello Forum!!!
I have a doubt on calculation of 18 years benifit for an Assistant Teacher in gov aided school. One of our teachers got the benifit duly approved by A.D.I. as mentioned below:
    Date of Joining – 01.05.1990
Date of completion of 18 years – 30.04.2008
He was fixed at 16,290+4,400 (pay in the band + grade pay) = 20,690.
The following info may require to prepare the calculation:-
He opted to get the benifit on the date of accrual of annual increment i.e., 1st July, 2008.
Pay in Band + Grade Pay as on 30.06.2008 was 15,110 + 4,100
Could somebody please check the correctness of above said fixation? I also need to know the order of calculation (first – annual increment; then grade pay change with suitable fitment in the ROPA-09 table and lastly an additional increment for 18 years??????? or any other????).
Will eagerly be awaiting for the reply.
    Regards,
    Tapas

I’m in little confusion whether extra 3% increment is admissible or not in 18yrs benefit, please wait.

3% additional increment is entitled vide GO No. 181 SE dt. 08.10.09. I need to know the order how the calculation will be made and whether any fitment is to be done in higher pay scale chart!!!!
In this case, the grade pay jumped from 4,100 to 4,400. if we fit the pay-in pay band in higher grade pay i.e., 4,400; then we need to find the fitment in the new band (4,400 table) or the same pay-in band will continue!!! in later case, the change will only be of Rs. 300 only.
    Awaiting for reply please.

As per your opinion, the calculation will be as on 01/07/08 is-
    15,110 + 4,100 = 19210 annual increment 3% = 576=580
    Basic=19210+580=19790 + 300 (additional grade pay)=20090, 18yrs increment 3% =602=610
    Final basic pay=20700/-

I have uploaded the calculation sheet. The second worksheet in the attached file shows the ROPA-09 fixation table (for 4,400 grade pay).
Please refer the below clause of GO# 181-SE dtd. 08.10.2009 for entitlement.
    1. Existing benefit after completion of 18 years of continuous service
An employee whose pay is fixed in any of the revised pay structure upto Pay Band 3 in the Annexure-VI and
who has not got a single promotion/advancement to a higher scale in the same post even after completion of 18
years continuous and satisfactory service shall be placed in the next higher grade pay of the same pay band or
lowest grade of the next higher pay band
, as the case may be with the approval of the concerned District Inspector
of Schools, the designation of the employee remaining unchanged.
Now the question arises on the correctness of the calculation. Which calculation should be followed for 18 years benifit!!!!!!!!!!
    Please advise.

    Tapas

I think the ADI Office calculation is right.
All the benefits upon 18 years CAS are awarded as follows:
    1. Annual increment as usual on 01.07.2008
    2. Higher Grade Pay for CAS.
    3. Additional Increment for CAS.
    Date of next increment: 01.07.2009.
