    I am a WB Govt employee with a pay band – 4 ( Rs 9000-40500 , Grade pay is 4400) and my current basic is Rs 20790/- . Till now I yet to get a promotion rather 8 years and 16 years benefits were given to me. My next promotional grade pay is Rs 4100/-. If I get promotion what wiil be my grade pay and basic? Pl answer my question.

    Since you are already placed in PB-4 with GP 4400 in terms of provisions of CAS after 16 years of service, you shall continue to draw pay in PB-4 with GP 4400 even after first promotion to a post carrying GP 4100 in PB-3.

    To Dr. Majumdar,
    Yes, I agree. I pay respect to your level of understanding of the essence of CAS. Since he has already got financial benefits on completion of 8 and 16 years as per CAS there is no question of reversal to GP 4100 which is coherent to the first original promotional post. That promotion was due to him for years. Now he will be getting the post (and status) only and not the attached scale as the scale was granted to him on completion of 8 yrs of regular service.
