    Is it necessary for West Bengal state government employee to get prior permission from appointing authority when purchasing land (sale/lease) from State government body like WB Housing Board, KMDA, Kolkata Improvement Trust?
    OR a post facto intimation about the transaction will be sufficient?

    Prior permission before purchasing immovable/ movable property is mandatory as per West Bengal Services (Duties, Rights and Obligation of the Govt. Employee) Rules 1980.

    You should apply for the same in the specific format as attached.

    If anyone applies to his/her appointing authority in due time and after getting no reply within 9 months if he/she becomes bound to complete registration process, then what to do?
