January 20, 2013 at 7:25 am #76449AnonymousInactiveYou will be re-designated as LDA or LDC at the earliest. See Finance Department Memo No. 1583-F(P) dated 21.02.2012.

You are right. Only the vacant posts in the typist cadre will be merged to the clerical cadre. Existing typists will enjoy the benefit of promotion until their retirement. The process is as follows –
Suppose, in a office there are some posts of Basic Grade Typist, some posts of Grade-1Typist, some posts of Supervisory Grade Typist and few posts of Senior Supervisory Grade Typist. Now, consequent upon one vacancy in the upper tire, chains of promotion will follow and one basic grade typist will be promoted to the post of Grade-1 typist and one post of basic grade typist will fall vacant. The vacant post will be converted to the post of L.D.C. When all vacant posts of basic grade typist are converted similarly, there will be posts of only Grade-1, Supervisory Grade and Senior Supervisory Grade. Now consequent upon vacancy in upper tire and subsequent promotions, one post of Grade-1 will fall vacant and it will be converted to L.D.C. All vacant posts of Grade-1 will be converted to L.D.C. one by one. There will be posts of only Supervisory Grade and Senior Supervisory Grade. Similarly, all vacant posts of Supervisory Grade Typist will be converted to L.D.C. one day, one by one. Only the Senior Supervisory Grade Typists will be there and consequent to vacancies, the vacant posts of Senior Supervisory Grade Typist will one by one be converted to the post of L.D.C. and when the last vacancy is converted, the process is completed and there will be no post of typist in any tier in that office.January 25, 2013 at 4:20 am #76537AnonymousInactiveNow the fact is clear. Govt. Has taken a very leanthy process. It would be better to float option with increment or promotion to abolish the post.
January 28, 2013 at 3:31 pm #76569AnonymousInactiveDear Members, please clarify if- (1) A candidate appointed as Typist in the year 1994 and he has not promoted to any other post till 2012 except C.A.S. (two times), under the control of District Registrar (Finance Revenue Department, Govt of West Bengal). At present he has opted to change his cadre from Typist to L.D.C. as G.O. No. 1583-F(P) dated 21.02.2012. In the meantime, there are huge post of U.D.C. are lying vacant in the concerned district (Appointing authority is District Registrar). But the Government says the said typist (at present LDC) must wait for confirmation of his post in the new cadre of L.D.C.
Dear members, please clarify whether the said typist wait for 1 year or 3 years for his confirmation?January 28, 2013 at 4:37 pm #76571AnonymousInactiveAt present he has opted to change his cadre from Typist to L.D.C. as G.O. No. 1583-F(P) dated 21.02.2012. In the meantime, there are huge post of U.D.C.
A great mess appears to have been done there. The G.O. No. 1583-F(P) dated 21.02.2012 does not at all set any provision for exercising of option by an existing Typist to change his cadre to L.D.C. The G.O. is all about converting the vacant posts in various tiers of the Typist cadre. If he has been appointed to the post of L.D.C. on the basis of this G.O., it has been done not in accordance with the rule and it appears that it will create a great problem for him.
If he is, however, appointed to the post of L.D.C. pursuant to West Bengal Services Recruitment to Clerical Cadre Rules ( vide G.O. 7165-F(P), Kolkata, the 1st July, 2010), he will have to wait 3 years from the date of appointment to the post of L.D.C. for confirmation. Thereafter, he may be promoted to the post of U.D.C. -
