I have selected in West Bengal General Service and they have asked to undergo via a Pre Employment Medical Checkup by a Medical Board which will be arranged by Swastya Bhaban.
What are the checks are carried out?
Is there any chance of rejection?
Your information would really be helpfull.September 25, 2012 at 11:41 am #74440AnonymousInactiveMainly Blood Test (to examine the lipid profiles) is done for pre- employment check up. Besides these, Physical fitness, eye sight etc. are checked up for different categories of service on demands.
May be rejected if any unnatural, unexpected component seen by the medical board.
Please don’t worry about it. Generally, a normal young man does not face any problem.
On behalf of this forum, wish you good luck and win the struggle.September 25, 2012 at 3:44 pm #74448AnonymousInactiveI have selected in West Bengal General Service and they have asked to undergo via a Pre Employment Medical Checkup by a Medical Board which will be arranged by Swastya Bhaban.

As regard Blood test I am a little bit confused as the same is done in the cases of ex-servicemen re-employed in the job on contractual basis. However, this is a formality and almost all pass this test.

Yes I agree. Provision for blood test is not there in the letter issued from Swasthya Bhavan.
Blood test is not done in such general cases.
I was tested for fitness on two occasions of UPSC selections – one at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospita, New Delhi in August, 1999 in connection with my first employment and, the other at Calcutta Medical College & Hospital in March 2009 in connection with my 2nd appointment in another govt. service. No blood test was done in either of the cases. -
