Are you seeking advice to start a huge profitable business? Then you are in the right place. Be a owner of a Private B.Ed colleage and you will be amongst the richest very soon. You should have some political background and good capital. You will gain huge without any bargaining and the most interesting thing is that the maximux retail price will depend upon you and there will not be much competitor. As the Government has been kind enough by making the training mandatory for High School teachers job in near future, there will not be any deficiency of customers. This business has some hidden features and the most importent of them is donation. Though the term “donation” means “charity” you may claim it forcefully and of course the amount will be high enough to hang the donor. You may earn more by providing hostels to the students and the charges will be applicable to all, no matter all of them will reside there or not. You may increase your income by providing poor quality uniforms to the students for which a good amount would already been charged. None will protest you as you have already shut the big mouths and who cares for the rest? After all you will provide the most valuable lesson to the students in one year which they could not learn through their 15 to 17 years lesson. It will make you happy to know that this business has the most bright future as the same will definitely brighten the future of the students and the invester will get a good return of their investment which they made by hook and crook. Thats enough now. Expecting more limelights from our friends regarding this wonderful business. The image below is just to make you assure what I say.

The aim is clear. All the decision on education is taken to encourage the privatization and to advertise our country as a 100% literate nation especially by the “no detention” policy though actually the quality of degrees are falling down sharply…

A few days ago while visiting a village. I met a student who has got admission to a private B.ed college. The student obtained very good scores in School exams as well in Madhymik and H.S. exams. Unfortunately She failed to maintain the good score in Graduation(Hons) and subsequently the doors of Govt. Colleges became closed to her. Now her father who is a poor farmer, sold a major part of his farming land to arrange the huge amount for her higher study. The condition of the family has became down so drastically. Though she does not reside at the college hostel as the college is near to her home, She is bound to pay the hostel charges. The uniform supplied by the college is of poorest quality though a good amount was charged from her for this purpose. Can we do anything against this?

Where is our high thinking HRD ministry! Feeling hopelessly bad against our system. The little idea I’ve with B.ed says it concerns with the degree and some knowledge but no one care for the development of teaching in the practical classroom situation.

The education is an industry. If the ideas of a few are not imported in our Country or State then who will finance our Matric fail graduates most of whom are now ministers and MLAs.From where the “poor leaders” who are the so called representative of poors would get money to fight the elections. See around yourself and you will identify all of them whether they are Ora or Amra.

Sorry to say I am not in complete agreement with all views expressed by respected members, although i agree with the theme of the discussion. The newspaper reporting seems to be a little politically biased. What i can add here is the west bengal govt is considering to constitute a fee structure committee in this regard. Teachers education became a must by NCTE regulations not by the govt. Please don’t forget there are huge problems regarding validity of degrees when someone acquire degree from a state and goes to another state for job (since education is a state subject). Don’t you think a central body is required? One thing i would like to clarify here 50% marks is required either in graduation or in masters. Please rectify if i am wrong.

Dear all, it is really a great news that a fee-structure is going to be implemented as shared by our friend digitaldoc. And I also agree that a centrally accredited degree is also necessary. But my concern is about the quality of the training and also about the system. Let me elaborate it with the example of PTT problem. The PTTIs were running in their way, then there was an appeal before the court of law and it is found that the degrees from those institutes are invalid. That means the students from institutes are not eligible to teach students but when the decision was change from the end of government they became eligible to teach students. So is for the B.Ed. The B.Ed institute were once found to run without recognition of NCTE and so the students were not eligible to be teacher but when some fine or something was paid to NCTE from those institute those student became eligible! I am simply not happy with the system now going on hope the changes we are getting will lead us to a golden future.

Dear friend i can understand your agony. Actually the problem is that the state govt did not follow the norms provided by the central bodies like NCTE. Some institutions did not follow the curriculum, some did not renew their recognition in time. Thus those institutes and degrees awarded by them became invalid. Then some of them renewed their recognition later by paying late fine to NCTE. Here you will be more glad to know (pun intended) the govt has wasted more than Rs. 6 crore by paying the late fine on behalf of those institutions (some of them were private colleges). Although the amount was shown as an interest free loan to them and to be refunded to the govt with in a year, most of them did not bother to refund. You may recall similar problems of 2 year pass graduates.
Now question is that why this happens? I would like to utter 3 words (make sentences as you like) ignorant, worthless, political willingness.

Thanks digitaldoc for the clarification. I am also against the way the NCTE acted at that time. Almost none of the students heard the name of the organisation. Till some days ago people thought it is NCERT. More awareness should have been created by NCTE, central govt., state govt. Also the NCTE knew it very well that many institution were running without their recognition yet they did not take any initiative against them till the debate came out after the court case! They were simply sleeping at that time.
However I’ll like to suggest something to cope with such problem regarding affiliation in future (may be I’m off topic). The govt. should introduce SINGLE WINDOW information system for the students (web enabled). All institution in West Bengal should be register with the system with complete information such as courses /course fee/ affiliation. A student will tell only the name of the course and the system will tell the name of all the legally institutes. And when the student will tell the name of the institute and course name the system will tell YES or NO. the portal should be legally constituted i.e. if it say YES to get admission to a particular institute and course govt. will take all the responsiblity. This should be extended to all the educational institute in India and the govt. of India also should have take such single window information system. It is a huse tusk but not impossible for the govt. if they wish. Thus we can also get controll over illegal institute (discussed in this forum by one of our friend in this forum)… Sorry again if I’m off topic.
