is it necessary to have a trade license in West Bengal to pay PT. Can we pay PT without taking a trade license?

No, you can’t pay. follow process :

1. get trade licence first
2. then apply for p. tax enrolment
3. then apply for p. tax registration (to deduct from employes’) if wage more than 8500/- p.m.
