Rate of increase of fare for long distance buses are also there in the thread provided by me. However, it is also given below:
“In case of Long Distance Buses the fare is also increased and the details as follows –
General Long Distance Bus Ticket Fare is now Rs.6/- for 0-6 Kms and thereafter will increase by Rs.0.10/- per Km rate.
Express Long Distance Bus Ticket Fare is now Rs.8/- for 0-6 Kms and thereafter will increase by Rs.0.10/- per Km rate.
Inter State Bus minimum Ticket Fare is now Rs.10/- for 0-6 Kms.”
Example: SBSTC bus fare for journey from Salt Lake to Durgapur City Centre (180 km) has been increased from Rs. 80/- to Rs. 120/- with effect from 01.11.2012. An increase by Rs. 40/- in one go!Dear Dr Majumder,
As you stated, for SBSTC Express bus service from Bidhannagar to Durgapore distance is 180km. As per fare chart for 1st 6km it is Rs 8/- for remaining 174kn @ Rs. 0.10 /km which reasulting 176*0.10=17.60 totalling Rs. 17.60+8= 25.60 rounded off to Rs. 26/-
Please go through your example and help the members of this forum.
We are interested about the full fare chart instead of the increase of fare. Please try to provide the rate for calculation of fare easily.

The long distance STC bus fare which was effective from 01.11.12 has been revised again and the latest fare for State Transport Buses with effect from 25.11.12 is as follows:
(Pls note the distance from Esplanade to Durgapur = 180 km and pre-revised fare was Rs. 75)
From Karunamoyee (Salt Lake) to Durgapur (185 km and not 180 km):
Pre-revised fare till 31.10.12 = Rs. 80
Revised fare with effect from 01.11.12 = Rs. 120
Latest revised fare w.e.f. 25.11.12 = Rs. 90
From Karunamoyee (Salt Lake) to Asansol (235 km):
Pre-revised fare till 31.10.12 = Rs. 100
Latest revised fare w.e.f. 25.11.12 = Rs. 113
From Karunamoyee (Salt Lake) to Barddhaman:
Latest fare w.e.f. 25.11.12 = Rs. 57
From Karunamoyee (Salt Lake) to Bankura:
Latest fare w.e.f. 25.11.12 = Rs. 117
Now, let me make an attempt to deduce the fare on the basis of some presumptions:PRE-REVISED FARE
From Karunamoyee to Durgapur:
Distance = 185 km,
Pre-revised fare till 31.10.12:
Fare for first 6 km = Rs. 8
Fare for remaining 179 km = Rs. 71.60 (@ Rs. 40) = Rs. 72
Total fare = Rs. 8 + Rs. 72 = Rs. 80PRE-REVISED FARE
From Karunamoyee to Asansol
Distance = 235 Km
Pre-revised fare till 31.10.12
Fare for first 6 km = Rs. 8
Fare for remaining 229 km = Rs 91.60 (@ Rs 0.40) = Rs. 92
Total pre-revised fare = Rs 8 + Rs 92 = Rs 100REVISED FARE w.e.f. 25.11.12
Distance = 185 km
Fare for first 6 km = Rs. 8 (old rate)
Revised fare for remaining 179 km = Rs. 82.34 (@ Rs 0.46) = Rs. 82
Total revised fare = Rs. 8 + Rs. 82 = Rs. 90.REVISED FARE w.e.f. 25.11.12
Distance = 235 Km
Fare for first 6 km = Rs. 8 (old rate)
Fare for remaining 229 km = Rs 105.34 (@ Rs 0.46) = Rs. 105
Total revised fare = Rs 8 + Rs 105 = Rs 113However, the results are validated with the actual SBSTC bus fare for Durgapur and Asansol before and after revision.

Thank you so much in advance ………Sorry, I cannot locate the mistake if any. Pls point out by mentioning the text. I paid Rs 120 for journey from Salt Lake to Durgapur by SBSTC bus on 02.11.12 and also on 24.11.12. But, I have seen the another phase of revision of SBSTC fare (Rs. 90) for Durgapur when I have visited the SBSTC tkt counter at Karunamoyee today. So, the fare was increased from Rs. 80 to Rs. 120 w.e.f. 01.11.12 and again lowered to Rs. 90 w.e.f. 25.11.12.
I paid Rs 280 as fare for journey from Karunamoyee to Durgapur by A/C Volvo bus (Royal Cruiser) several times before August,2012. It became Rs. 330 in Aug., then again reduced to Rs. 280 in the last week of Aug.. It was again increased to Rs. 350 in Sept.I saw yesterday in a MINI BUS ( BBD to Thakurpukur) that the new rate of fare ( Extra Re. 1) will be added per stages of previous fare w.e.f. 28/11/2012.
Thank you.Actually, revised fares of all types of buses (local ordinary, local Mini, long distance express, long distance ordinary etc.) are not made effective on the same day.
