I am working as an assistant teacher in primary school. I want to take admission in B.Ed in ODL mode after two yers of my service.
I have some questions:
1. Is it mandatory to take permission from S.I. of Schools (PE) for this? If mandatory how to take permission and if SI deny to give permission what should I do?
2. Shall I get any study leave for exam and class? What should I write in staff attendance book or return?
3. Two years of teaching experience is required to take admission in ODL mode. Who will issue me the experience certificate SI of School/ Head Teacher/T.I.C ?
Thank you.June 5, 2015 at 3:22 pm #80519AnonymousInactive1) You are not entitled to get B.ED degree as you are an in service primary teacher. You may admit in Two Year D.El.Ed. Course.
2) Yes, it is mandatory to take permission from SI of Schools.
3) No, you are not entitled to get study leave as the date of exams. fall in holidays. You may get leave the days of PCP.
4) Such certificate is generally issued by the HT/TIC.

Yes. Two years D.El.Ed course in ODL mode already started, but I know some primary teachers who took admission in IGNOU for 2 Years B.Ed. Is it a ODL mode course? Please reply.June 7, 2015 at 9:37 am #80548AnonymousInactiveYes. IGNOU conducts the B.Ed. course on ODL basis. I am posting the G.O. permitting high school teachers to pursue B.Ed. through IGNOU.

Thank you,
In IGNOU website I found this in eligibility criteria. I think it is completely OK to take admission in the course as an Assistant Teacher ( Primary School) with 2 years of teaching experience.
“Two yearsโ full time teaching experience on temporary/permanent basis as Primary/Graduate/Post Graduate teacher in a primary, secondary/higher/senior secondary school with registration number recognised by the respective Directorate of Education or Central or State Government or Union Territory. The teacher should be in service at the time of submitting application form as well as at the time of producing the original documents at the Regional Centre. The experience certificate should be issued by the Principal or Headmaster/Headmistress only. The requisite teaching experience of two years must be completed on or before the last date of submission of application as notified in the advertisement.” -
