Subject: Creation and filling up of 3351 posts of Village Police Volunteer under West Bengal Police.

The undersigned is directed by order of the Governor to say that the Governor has been pleased to accord approval for creation and filling up of 3351 (three thousand three hundred and fifty one) posts of Village Police Volunteer under West Bengal Police for deployment in Gram Panchayet areas, subject to the following conditions:

i) engagement at the rate of one in each Gram Panchayet;
ii) payment at a daily wage of Rs. 310/- for 22 days in a month;
iii) compulsory break of at least one day after 14 days.

2. The recruitment of the Village Police Volunteers will be made by the Committee to be constituted by the concerned Superintendents of Police/ Police Commissioners, following usual procedure for recruitment.

3. The order issues with concurrence of Finance Deptt. vide their U.O. No. 1374 Group-P (Service) dated 30.4.12 and approval of Cabinet held on 16.5.12.

4. The Pr. AG (A&E), WB is being informed.
