Memorandum
Sub: Acceptance of AADHAR card as a proof of identity and local residence for the purpose of issuance of caste certificates.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s Memorandum no 1203-BCW/MR-88/2014 and 1204-SBCW BCW/MR-88/2014 both dated 27/7/2015 and this is to state that henceforth AADHAR card, issued by the competent authority of the Govt. of India, will be treated as a valid document as a proof of local residence as well as that of identity of the applicant for the purpose of issuance of SC/ST/OBC certificates. Consequently it is stated that AADHAR card needs to be treated as valid document in regard to proof of identity and local residence in addition to the list of documents mentioned in Para 8 (c) and (e) of the Memorandum No. 1203-BCW, dt. 27.07.2015 (i.e updated guidelines for issuance of SC/ST certificates) and list of documents mentioned in Para 9 (c) and (e) of the Memorandum No. 1204-SBCW, dt. 27.07.2015 (i.e updated guidelines for issuance of OBC certificates).
All certificate issuing authorities are to take note of the above.
