NOTIFICATION
Whereas, the use of Aadhaar as an identity document for delivery of services or benefits or subsidies simplifies the Government delivery processes, brings in transparency and efficiency and enables beneficiaries to get their entitlement directly in a convenient and seamless manner by obviating the need to produce multiple documents to prove one’s identity.
In exercise of the power conferred by Rules 5 of Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare Innovation Knowledge) Rule 2020 read with Rules 4 for the purpose specified in Rules 3, the Department of Information Technology & Electronics hereby establishes Unique Document Identification Number (UDIN) to perform the functions assigned to it under the said act with effect from the date of publication of this Notification in the official Gazette. SNLTR (Society for Natural Language Technology Research), under the Dept. of IT&E, Govt. of West Bengal shall be the head office and Shri Sibansu Mukherjee, Director, SNLTR and Shri Promathesh Mandal, Research Software Developer, SNLTR, shall take charge for Identities Data Repository.
