MEMORANDUM
Sub: Construction of tubewells and allied works in Government buildings – procedure regarding
It has been observed that there are coordination problems in construction and maintenance of tubewells in Government buildings. As per the prevailing practice, all works relating to construction and maintenance of tubewells/ pump machines etc. are being done by the electrical wing.
2. The water supply and sanitation works all over the country are done by civil wing. The electrical wing decides the capacity of pump motors to be provided based on the yield required for the building/ project by the civil wing.
3. To avoid such issues in future, following procedures would be followed for all new projects/ buildings requiring installation of tubewells and allied plumbing works:
(i) The electrical wing of PWD would only prescribe the capacity of pump motor sites depending on the yield of the tubewell as suggested by the civil wing.
(ii) The civil wing of PWD would execute all water supply works involving tubewell and plumbing works including their operation and maintenance.
4. This procedure would come into effect from the date of issue of this memorandum.
