Land Reforms
Department of a Land & Land Reforms implements land reforms. Therefore, it is essential to upgrade its capabilities for implementation of land reforms in the interest of the landless, marginal and small farmers.
An Act to provide for the acquisition of land in rural areas on which homestead has been constructed by any person being an agricultural labourer, an artisan or a fisherman and conferment of title to such land in favour of such person.
Governor is pleased to fix the amount of administrative cost to be borne by the requiring departments towards direct purchase of land as follows:
An Act to provide for securing the land -revenue within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporations of Kolkata and Howrah and other municipal areas under the Kolkata Metropolitan Department Authority as may be extended from time to time and in relation to matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
An Act to amend the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955. industrial park or industrial hub or industrial estate or financial hub or logistic hub shall be substituted.
An Act to provide for the setting up of Regional Land Reforms Tribunals and a Special Land Reforms Tribunal in pursuance of article 323B of the Constitution of India and for the adjudication and trial by such Tribunals of disputes and applications with respect to the matters relating to land reforms and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
An Act to provide for the survey and demarcation of land. It extends to the States of West Bengal and Bihar and that part of the State of Orissa which on the sixth day of October, 1875, was subject to the Lieutenant Governor of Bengal.
A price preference may be extended to the Primary Fishermen/ women Cooperative Societies (PFCSs), Fish Producers Groups (FPGs), Self Help Groups (SHGs), registered fishing persons and some other such groups.
If the beneficiaries are specific individuals instead of a class/ community/ public at large then it is to be treated as a private debotttar property.
Time limit for disposal by the Reviewing Officer – 15 days for No Dues Certificate (Land Revenue) for all the finally published mouzas.
Tea garden will be allowed to utilize 15% of the total grant area subject to a maximum of 150 acres for tea tourism and allied business activities.
