State Government has notified dates of Panchayat General Elections which will be held in 17 districts of West Bengal (except the district of Darjeeling).
Panchayats and Rural Development Department is entrusted with the responsibility of constitution and framing policy related to functioning of the rural local self-government, i.e. the Panchayats.

The Candidate must have retired as UDC or above rank preferably having past working experience in rural set up from any State Govt. department for GP Secretary.
Gram Panchayat shall henceforth issue certificate of registration for running trade, wholesale or retail within its jurisdiction, for the time being in force, with the validity of three years at a time.
