Jurisdiction of RTA Kolkata is expanded and comprised with combined areas of the Police Commissionerates of Kolkata, Howrah, Barrackpore and Bidhannagar.

Transport Department operates from the State Administrative Buildings, i.e. Writers’ Buildings. The Kolkata RTO office is known as Public Vehicles Department.

Administrative and Operational Set-up of Transport Directorate

Resolution of Gatidhara Scheme by Transport Department

Colour Scheme of New Metered Taxis approved by Transport Dte

Categories of transport vehicles which are not fitted with speed governor, shall be equipped or fitted by the operator of such vehicle with speed governor (speed limiting device).

Registration marks to be used for temporary registration by the Registering Authorities, which will be uniform throughout the State and will also be readily identifiable.

Conditional Certificate of Fitness to Ensure Installation of VLTD
Governor is also pleased to order that the Registering Authority issuing such conditional Certificate of Fitness will maintain record and ensure installation of VLTD or suspension of such conditional certificate of fitness.
