NOTIFICATION
Whereas, it has been brought to the notice of the Government that commercial vehicles are finding it difficult to report to their respective Registering Authorities (RAs) for physical inspection for renewal of their Certificate of Fitness at the appropriate time due to their business commitments and/or several other reasons; and
Whereas, the methods, procedures, standards and specifications of fitness testing of a class of vehicles is same everywhere; and
Whereas, Government is also contemplating setting up of automated inspection and certification centres (I&C Centres) for fitness testing of vehicles which will cater to vehicles registered with several RAs at one place;
Now, therefore, after careful consideration of all aspects, it is hereby ordered that, a commercial vehicle registered in the State of West Bengal may be produced before any RA within the State for fitness checking and will be issued Certificate of Fitness by the said RA after observing necessary formalities as per the extant rules.
