For implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), the State Government recruits Gram Rojgar Sevak (GRS) through Block Development Officer and appointment agreement with Pradhan. One Gram Rojgar Sevak (GRS) will be engaged on contract in every Gram Panchayat. The main duty of the GRS is to help the technical person (i.e. Nirman sahayak, T.A.,S.A.E. etc.) to strengthen the MGNREGA works & also other official works related to MGNREGA. State Govt. delegated financial power to the Programme Officers and District Programme Coordinators. Annual review of the performance of GRS should be undertaken by them. The cost of GRS is the first charge on the Administrative expenses under NREGA. A petition is filed about the role & demands of Gram Rojgar Sevak at petitiononline.com.
