ORDER
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 21 of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board Act, 2014 (West Bengal Act XIV of 2014) the Governor has been pleased to direct the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board to conduct the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations, 2016 [i.e. WBJEEM-2016 (Medical)] on 20th July, 2016 (Wednesday) in 151 centres of West Bengal, as mentioned in the Schedule appended. Whereas, it is necessary to ensure an environment conducive to the conduct of a competitive examination in the designated examination centres, the regular academic and other activities in the institutions mentioned in the Schedule and located in West Bengal shall need to be closed for the above mentioned day, to enable the conduct of the said examination involving a large number of students.
The concerned Government Departments and affiliating Universities are advised to declare a ‘local holiday’ and issue suitable instructions to the teaching and non-teaching staff of the institutions mentioned in the Schedule appended for rendering full assistance and co-operation to the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board on 20th July, 2016 (Wednesday) in the interest of public service.
This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide their U.O. No. Group P2 /2016-2017/ 0112 dated 13.07.2016.
