Subject: Introduction of mandatory Annual Health Checkup for the WBCS (Exe) officers of the age of 40 years or above in line with the provisions made in this regard for AIS & Central Civil Service Officers.
Introduction of mandatory Annual Health Check-up for the WBCS(Exe.) officers of the age of 40 years or above, with a view to ensure their well-being, by reducing health related risks and also to enhance their performance, has been under active consideration of the State Government for quite some time past.
Now, after careful consideration of the matter, the Governor is pleased to introduce mandatory Annual Health Check-up for the WBCS (Exe.) officers of the age of 40 years or above.
The Cost of examination and the investigations, as per the List of Investigations and in the Health Care Organization approved by the State Government (Annexure-I) for the above purpose, has to be initially borne by the concerned WBCS (Executive) Officer himself/ herself and shall be subsequently reimbursed at the rates applicable to AIS & Central Civil Service Officers as may be notified from time to time.
List of pathological, radiological and optical and other investigations for the above purpose would be identical to the approved List of such investigations as incorporated for mandatory Annual Health Checkup of AIS & Central Civil Service Officers.
Such examination and Investigations must be conducted by approved Health Care Organizations including Government Hospitals/ Health Care Organizations and Private Hospitals empaneled by the Health & Family Welfare Department and the Medical Cell of the Finance Department from time to time.
The charges for further investigations, if recommended by competent Medical Officers, during the mandatory Annual Health Checkup, would be reimbursed as per WBHS rates, as a special case.
The complete Medical Report along with the Summary of Medical Report, in the prescribed format (Annexure-II), prepared by a competent Medical Officer of the concerned Health Care Organisation, shall be uploaded by the concerned WBCS (Executive) officer at the time of submission of SAR in the respective module of SAR so introduced by the P & A.R. Department.
This order is being issued with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide U.O. No. Group P1/2025-2026/0363 dt. 07/08/2025 and subsequent approval of the Cabinet as communicated vide Cabinet Sectt. U/O No. CAB(D)-1342 dt. 08/09/2025.
All concerned are being informed accordingly.
