Sub: National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement.
Ref: Memo No. 06(20)/GE/PBSSM dated 07-04-14 of the Paschim Banga Sarva Shiksha Mission read with D.O. No 11-1/2013-CW-I dated 07-02-14 of Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India.
With reference to the subject mentioned above, the undersigned would like to inform all the H.M. of diff. respective schools that the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India has instituted an Award, called National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement and who have achieved outstanding status in various fields including academics, arts, culture and sports etc. The guideline of the said scheme are as follows:-
i. Children between age group of 4-15 years as on 31-07-2014 who have shown in exceptional achievement in any field like, arts, culture and sports etc. will be considered for this Award.
ii. There will be one Gold Medal alongwith cash prize of Rs. 20,000/- for one child at the National Level and one silver medal alongwith cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- for one child from each State/ U.T.
iii. Application in the prescribed proforma should be attached with attested copy of Birth certificates, two passport size recent photographs (duly attested), press clippings/certificates and other supporting documents as proof of achievements.
iv. The applications should be recommended by State/U.T. Deptts, any deptt. of Govt. of India/ District Authority, Local Self Govt. (Panchayat, Zila Parishad, Municipal Corporation), experts in the field, M.L.A, Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Councils and reputed Voluntary Organisations.
v. A National Selection Committee out of cases recommended by various bodies will make selection.
vi. The Award will be announced on 14th November this year and will be given away in New Delhi on a date and time convenient to the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
vii. The Child will receive the Award personally. Ministry of Women and Child Development will pay the awardees and his/her guardian/escort (maximum no. 2) expenditure involved in travelling and daily allowances as per rule.
Hence, all H.M. of diff. Jr. High/ High/ H.S. schools are hereby requested to send application to the children of age group 4-15 years of his/her School (if any) who have fulfilled the requirements for National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement, alongwith above mentioned documents in the prescribed proforma enclosed herewith within 17th April, 2014 positively.
This may be treated as extremely urgent.
