All the concerned receiving and forwarding authorities/ officers are being requested to send the applications and other related documents in respect of compassionate appointment after thoroughly checking and scrutinizing as per existing Government Orders/ Notifications/ Memorandums/ Circulars in force.
Governor has been pleased to lay down the following principles and procedures to be followed in dealing with the issue of appointment on compassionate ground to the dependants of employees who die-in-harness, or who retire prematurely on being declared permanently incapacitated.
Condonation of excess in age for appointment on compassionate ground may be considered by the Head of the Departments on the basis of valid documents.
Any undisposed case regarding married daughter where the death or incapacitation could be looked into afresh, if it fulfills other conditions of the Scheme.

A permanent recruitment committee is being set up to conduct the examination process for appointment to Group-C posts under die-in harness category in Public Works Department.
These rules may be called the West Bengal Madrasah Service Commission Recruitment (Selection and Recommendation of persons for Appointment and Transfer to the Posts of Teacher and non-teaching Staff) Rules, 2010.
Governor is pleased to allow posting of Group – D employees, appointed on compassionate ground, to any Circle Office under Public Works Directorate.
These rules may be called the West Bengal School Service Commission (Selection of Persons for Appointment to the Post of Non-Teaching Staff) Rules, 2009.
