ORDER
The proposal of handing over Police infrastructure now on the books of Public Works Department (PWD) to the West Bengal Police Housing & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (WBPHIDCL) was under consideration of this Department for some time past.
2. Now after consideration of the proposal, the undersigned is directed to state that the Governor has been pleased to accord administrative approval to the proposal that:
I. The projects which are presently being implemented by PWD will be completed by them.
II. The transfer of maintenance work will be carried out phase-wise in case of the assets of the West Bengal Police. The phasing will be decided by the Chairman & Managing Director, WBPHIDCL in consultation with the Director General & Inspector General of Police, West Bengal. Concerned PWD authorities will have to be informed.
III. All the Police infrastructure assets of Kolkata Police, now on the books of PWD, will be taken over by the WBPHIDCL in consultation with Commissioner of Police, Kolkata. Concerned PWD authorities will have to be informed.
IV. WBPHIDCL will ensure maintenance of the projects constructed by them, as well as of those taken over from the PWD.
3. This order is issued with the approval of the Chief Secretary.
