Restructuring and reorganization of various offices for the interest of public service and better management.
Some minor modification in respect of work load and territorial jurisdiction of working Divisions of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) wing, was felt necessary to reduce overlapping of jurisdiction among working Divisions.

Governor has been pleased, in the interest of public service, to restructure and reorganize the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Wing of the Irrigation & Waterways Department (IWD), to ensure equitable distribution of workload.

DRI&E is created for comprehensive approach to investigation and enforcement of tax laws for tackling the menace of tax evasion and leakage of State revenue in a more efficient and effective manner.

Policy relating to transfer, promotion and seniority of employees, who will be borne in the Head Quarter of Transport Directorate, West Bengal on shifting from Public Vehicles Department, Kolkata, will be retained.

26 PSUs/ Corporations would be restructured and 20 would be merged. The remaining 44 PSUs/ Corporations will continue to remain functional.

Jurisdiction of RTA Kolkata is expanded and comprised with combined areas of the Police Commissionerates of Kolkata, Howrah, Barrackpore and Bidhannagar.

Governor is pleased in the interest of Public Service, to sanction creation of 234 posts of different categories in different Offices and Establishments under Electrical Wing of PWD.
