MEMORANDUM
The period of probation of persons appointed to Group C posts under the West Bengal Services (Appointment, Probation and Absorption of Group C Employees) Rules, 2013, notified under No. 1832-F(P) dated 01.03.2013, does not count towards Modified Career Advancement Scheme or promotion in terms of rule 9(2) of the said rules.
On coming into force of the West Bengal Services (Recruitment to Clerical Cadre) Rules, 2019 notified under No. 662-F(P2) dated 24.01.2019 issued in supersession of all previous rules and orders so far as the recruitment to clerical posts are concerned, the question of counting the period of probation for the purpose of Modified Career Advancement Scheme benefit and promotion in respect of the persons appointed under the West Bengal Service (Appointment, Probation and Absorption of Group C Employees) Rules, 2013, has been under the consideration of the Government for some time past.
After careful consideration of the matter, the Governor has been pleased to decide that the period of probation of persons appointed under the West Bengal Services (Appointment, Probation and Absorption of Group C Employees) Rules, 2013 shall count towards Modified Career Advancement Scheme benefit and promotion.
