NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the power conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India and in supersession of this Department notification No. 5334-WT/12E-23/16 dated the 23rd November, 2016, the Governor is pleased hereby to make, with immediate effect, the following rules regulating the recruitment to the posts of Motor Vehicles Inspector (Technical) in the Transport Department under the Government of West Bengal:-
Rules
The method of, and the qualifications required for, the recruitment to the posts of Motor Vehicles Inspector (Technical) under the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal, shall be as detailed below:
(a) Method of recruitment
By selection (direct recruitment) through an examination conducted by the Public Service Commission, West Bengal;
(b) Qualifications for direct recruitment
(i) Must have passed Madhyamik examination or its equivalent examination from a recognized Board or Council;
(ii) Must have a diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institution duly approved by AICTE/ WBSCTE or its equivalent;
(iii) Must have a minimum of two years’ experience in a Workshop/ Factory of Automotive O. E. M. (Original Equipment Manufacturer) or O. E. M.-authorised Workshop/ Service Centre duly registered by a competent Government/ Local Body Authority;
(iv) Must possess a Driving Licence for heavy vehicles.
(c) Age
Must not be less than 18 (eighteen) years and not more than 39 (thirty nine) years on the 1st day of January of the year of advertisement and the upper age-limit shall be relaxable in respect of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes or the Other Backward Classes (Group A or Group B) or other reserved category, if any, as per the extant rules of the Government;
(d) Syllabus & Scheme of examination
The examination shall be conducted in one part and the syllabus and scheme for such examination shall be framed by the Public Service Commission, West Bengal in consultation with the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal.
