Recruitment Rules of Engineer and Ship Surveyor

NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the power conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India and in supersession of all previous rules on the subject, the Governor is pleased hereby to make the following rules regulating recruitment to the post of Engineer and Ship Surveyor, Inland Water Transport Wing under the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal.
Rules
The method of and the qualifications required for recruitment to the post of Engineer and Ship Surveyor, Inland Water Transport Wing under the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal shall be detailed below:
1. Method of recruitment:
By selection (direct recruitment) through the Public Service Commission, West Bengal.
2. Qualification for direct recruitment:
i) Essential:
A degree in Mechanical/Marine/Naval Architecture Engineering or equivalent;
ii) Desirable:
02 (two) years’ service at sea.
3. Age for direct recruitment:
Not more than 45 years on the 1st day of January of the year of advertisement, relaxable at the discretion of the Public Service Commission, West Bengal for otherwise well qualified candidates.
