Revision of Remuneration of Drivers Engaged in Govt. Establishments

NOTIFICATION

The question of revision of remuneration of drivers engaged directly in Government establishments including Boards, Corporations, Statutory Bodies and Undertakings against sanctioned posts on contractual basis with approval of the Finance Department has been under active consideration of the Government for some time past.

After careful consideration of the matter, the undersigned is directed by order of the Governor to say that the Governor has been pleased to decide as follows:

i) With effect from the 1st January, 2025, the consolidated monthly remuneration of above category of drivers engaged on contractual basis will be revised in the following manner:

1On initial engagementRs. 16,000
2On completion of 5 years from initial engagementRs. 20,000
3On completion of 10 years from initial engagementRs. 25,000
4On completion of 15 years from initial engagementRs. 31,000
5On completion of 20 years from initial engagementRs. 38,000

ii) Remuneration may be fixed in the above revised remuneration structure based on the number of completed years since initial engagement without any break.

iii) This will be applicable for the drivers till attaining the age of 60 years subject to renewal of the engagement.

iv) The engaging authority will check and verify that the conditions stated in the first paragraph above are fulfilled before allowing the benefit of revised remuneration.

v) The base remuneration of drivers engaged through agency will be Rs. 16,000/- per month. Other charges as applicable for hiring through agency will continue to apply.
