Estimate
Estimate refers to an approximate calculation or assessment of the value, cost, quantity, or size of something based on available information, often used in budgeting, planning, or decision-making processes.
For streamlining the process, it has been decided to introduce single window entry of all projects having multi-discipline [Architecture, Civil, Electrical/ IT (Electrical), Mechanical] vetting works through the Chief-Engineer, Planning (South Zone), PWD.
Estimates for works originating in districts can only be vetted by the respective Superintending Engineers/ Zonal Chief Engineers.
Specification of works would be prepared showing the different components part of DG Set like Engine, Alternator, AMF Panel, Acoustic Enclosure , Base Frame etc.
Estimated cost shall be based on PWD’s Schedule of Rates for the scheduled items of work and market rate as approved by the Head of Engineering wing of the Agency/Organisation for the non-scheduled items of work.
Various Government departments are coming up with proposal for waiving of vetting fee for checking of plans, estimates, tender papers etc. framed by agencies other than PWD.
The special pay for Head Estimators under the rule 5(33)(b) of WBSR Pt. I, shall be revised to Rs. 120/- p.m. w.e.f. 01.01.86 in relaxation of provisions under WBS(ROPA) Rules, 90.
Request for the submission of revised budget estimates for current financial year, 2015-16 and budget estimates for the next financial year 2016-17.

Submit separate estimate to the Administrative Department for each specialized job for issuance of separate AA & FS or issuance of AA & FS in sub-project mode so that each specialized job may be treated as a sub project of the main project.
It has been noticed that specification of lift of different capacity is being prepared differently by different levels of engineers during estimation. It has been felt that such specification of lift should be uniform.
