Family Pension
Family Pension is 30% of the last pay. Maximum ceiling of family pension is Rs. 21,000/-. The amount of pension increases with the increase of the age of the family pensioner.
West Bengal Non-Government College Teachers’ (Death Cum Retirement Benefit) Scheme published vide No. 1097-Edn dated 31.05.1978.
Extension of benefit of family pension in favour of unmarried/ divorced/ widowed daughter beyond the age of 25 years of a deceased employee (teaching and non-teaching) of Government aided Colleges has been under active consideration.
Age proof certificate for payment of additional quantum of family pension on attaining 80 years of age in terms of F.D. Memo. No. 200-F(Pen) dated 25.02.2009 and F.D. Memo. No. 201-F(Pen) Dated 25.02.2009.
West Bengal Municipal (Employee’s Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 2003 is applicable to all the whole time permanent employees under the employment of the Municipalities and the Notified Area Authorities.
Pension Sanctioning Authority shall fix the revised Pay as per WBS (ROPA) Rules, 2019 and authenticate the pay fixation particulars in the Service book. Duly updated Service book, IPF documents, attested photocopy of Annexures shall be sent to A.G (A&E) W.B.
Governor has now been pleased to decide that, for pre-deceased family pension cases, referral to the Finance Department (Pension Branch) for examination and decision/concurrence is not required.
Who shall draw and disburse the Revised Gratuity/ Additional Commuted Value of Pension of the State Government employees who retired on or after 01.01.2016 and in whose case PPO has already been issued by AG (A&E) W.B.
Pensioners and Family Pensioners will be able to draw their pensions from the respective pension disbursing banks by using the facilities of ATM/ Debit Card or through Net Banking portal of the bank.
Governor is now pleased to lay down the following standard operating procedure to be followed by various authorities for settlement of family pension claims in respect of deceased Government employees.
Model Sanction Order Forms as prescribed in Accounting Procedure to Group Insurance-cum-Savings Scheme, 1983 and 1987 were introduced for making final payment on retirement/ cessation of employment or in case of death.
