West Bengal Government Notification related to Government Holidays, Public Holidays, Holidays under Negotiable Instruments Act (N.I. Act) etc.
Every year 1st July is celebrated as Doctors’ Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Late Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, Ex-Chief Minister of West Bengal, and a half day holiday for the offices under State Government is notified.
You are requested to pass necessary instructions so that schools will re-open after Puja holidays on 27th October, 2014. The matter has been discussed with Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge.
All offices under the Government of West Bengal shall be closed at 2.00 p.m. on Tuesday the 19th June, 2018 in view of celebration of JAMAI SASTHI.
All offices under the Government of West Bengal will be closed at 2 p.m. today i.e. on Friday, the 12th day of February, 2016 on account of Sree Panchami.
Governor is pleased to declare 9th September (Monday), 2019 as a Sectional Holiday on occasion of KARAM PUJA for the employees belonging to Tribal Communities.

In exercise of the power conferred by the explanation to Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, the Governor is pleased to declare 22nd Shrabana of Bengali Year 1418, (Monday, the 8th August, 2011) a Public Holiday in memory of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore.
