Samudra Sathi scheme for providing livelihood support of Rs. 5000.00 only each per month to all marine fishermen above 21 years of age who are affected adversely due to the ban imposed on venturing into sea for fishing during the period from 15th April to 14th June.
Governor is pleased to sanction as one time death benefit of Rs. 2 lakh only per deceased artisan/ weaver with a view to provide an instant financial support to the next of kin to the weavers/artisan on their expiry before attaining 60 years of age.
The scheme envisages support to around 1 lac artisans and 200 industrial cooperative societies every year with an expected annual financial outlay of Rs 200 crore.
