Nomenclature of the posts of the Chief Engineers under PWD

Governor is pleased in the interest of Public Service to amend the nomenclature of the following posts of the Chief Engineers belonging to the Engineering cadre under PWD.

Some minor modification in respect of work load and territorial jurisdiction of working Divisions of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) wing, was felt necessary to reduce overlapping of jurisdiction among working Divisions.

Restructuring Engineering Setup of PWD Creating Five Zones

There will be five zones namely North Zone, Central Zone, West Zone, South West Zone and South Zone each headed by Chief Engineers of the two directorates i.e. Public Works and Public Works (Roads) separately.

Policy relating to transfer, promotion and seniority of employees, who will be borne in the Head Quarter of Transport Directorate, West Bengal on shifting from Public Vehicles Department, Kolkata, will be retained.
Modified Sanctioned Strength in LDC and UDC Cadre under P.W.Dte.

Creation of New Posts in Jhargram, Asansol and Kalimpong

Governor has been pleased to accord sanction to the creation of 02 (Two) posts of Executive Engineer (Electrical), 03 (Three) posts of Assistant Engineer (Electrical), 11 (Eleven) posts of Junior Engineer (Electrical), 04 (Four) posts of Divisional Accountant and 08 (Eight) posts of Senior Accounts Clerk.
