Strike/Bandh
All the West Bengal Government Offices would remain open, all the employees should report for duty and no leave would be granted to any employee on the date of strike/bandh.
Absence will not be treated as dies non and no salary will be deducted in case of leave like Child Care Leave, Maternity Leave, Earned Leave, etc. sanctioned before the date of issuance of order No. 6535-F dated 01.09.2015.
All employees including those of GTA and Government Aided Institutions who attended office during the entire period of bandh will get 15 days’ Special Casual Leave.
Govt. Order released by the Chief Secretary, stating that, no leave will be granted for absence on 28th February, 2012 Industrial Strike called by Trade Unions.
The absence will be treated as dies non and no salary will be admissible for that day. However this will not affect past service of the concerned employee.
One day’s Special Casual Leave will be granted to those employees of all offices who attended office on 02.09.2015. Such Special Casual Leave shall be availed of within 31.12.2015.
All Heads of Offices/ Controlling Authorities concerned will issue Show-Cause notice to the employee(s) concerned, who will remain absent on 9th July, 2025, asking him/her to explain why action would not be taken against him/her for such unauthorized absence.
An employee who absents himself on Bandh day by tagging leave on that day with other days will also be treated as absent and the entire period of absence will be treated as dies non and no salary will be admissible.
Governor has been pleased to decide that absence of employees on 28.11.2016 and 29.11.2016 will be treated as dies non and no salary will be admissible.
In view of call given by a political party for a 12 hours’ bandh on the 16th August, 2024 (Friday), it has been decided that all State Government Offices shall remain open and all the employees shall report for duty on that day.
As pen-down strike affects the smooth functioning of the offices and delivery of public services and is therefore against larger public interest, any employee found not discharging his/her duties in the offices, shall be liable for action as per rules.
