Swasthya Sathi
Swasthya Sathi is a Group Health Insurance Scheme for Casual/ daily rated/ contractual workers and different Volunteers (e.g. Civic Police/ Green Police/ Village Police).
(i) Leaves like casual leave, medical leave, maternity leave, study leave and (ii) Swasthya Sathi Scheme which had earlier been enjoyed by the erstwhile Government approved Part Time Teachers, Contractual Whole Time Teachers.
Governor is hereby pleased to introduce a scheme of the Government of West Bengal to provide the female members of all families of the state an assured monthly income to improve their financial condition and promote women empowerment.
State Aided College Teachers (SACTs) of Government Engineering & Technological Colleges are entitled to avail of 14 (fourteen) days casual leave in a calendar year with full remuneration.
State Government have introduced a Group Health Insurance Scheme named ‘Swasthya Sathi’ for different categories of worker and volunteer incl. Casual/ Contractual workers.
Introduction of Group Health Insurance Scheme named Swasthya Sathi for serving nonteaching permanent staff of Government-aided colleges and State-aided Universities.
Governor is pleased to include other employees/workers/volunteers/teachers engaged in government work under Swasthya Sathi scheme with immediate effect.
Swasthya Sathi for workers/ volunteers like the Members of Self Help Groups, Civic Police Volunteers, Green Police Volunteers, Civil Defence Volunteers, Village Police Volunteers at Gram Panchayat, Disaster Management workers, Home Guard/ NVF, ASHA workers, ICDS workers and other Contractual/ Casual/ Daily rated workers.
A State Level Committee is constituted to oversee the implementation of ‘Swasthya Sathi’ for the workers, volunteers engaged in various development programmes.
Free treatment for COVID-19 patients shall be provided in Government Hospitals/ Government-requisitioned private hospital with an additional financial assistance of Rs 1.00 Lakh and a death benefit of Rs 10.00 Lakh.
Governor is pleased to decide that all permanent and contractual employees of statutory Commissions under different Departments of the State Government will be covered under Swasthya Sathi Scheme.
