MEMORANDUM
Subject: Introduction of Scheme ‘AKANKSHA’ for House Building Loan for State Government employees.
The Government of West Bengal had introduced ‘House Building Loan’ for the employees of State Government which was discontinued vide G.O. No. 214-FB dated 28.01.2003.
2. Now, considering the hardship faced by the State Government employees for construction of their own houses/ flats for their own accommodation, the Governor has been pleased to decide to introduce a new scheme of House Building Loan to the State Government Employees named “AKANKSHA” with a provision of Rs. 100 Cr. The eligibility criteria and the detailed procedure will be issued later on.
3. The State Government will provide land free of cost on the lines of “Police Housing” scheme “PRATYASHA”, for the purpose of construction of flats for State Government Employees. The Government Employees will have to avail loan on their own from the State Government, Banks and Financial Institutions for the purpose. The eligibility criteria and the detailed procedure will be issued later on.
