The functions of the Finance Department are performed through 5 (five) branches, namely, Audit, Budget, Revenue, Internal Audit and Institutional Finance.
The Administrative Departments will be required to take a written confirmation direct from the Finance Department, Budget Branch (Group-N) that the Central Share has been credited to the State Exchequer.
Governor is pleased to introduce Central Clearing System in Finance Department at Nabanna with effect from 05.03.2014 to facilitate orderly physical dispatch of files to the Administrative Departments located within or outside Nabanna.
Re-Constitution of State Level Core Committee for implementation and monitoring of e-tender process in Government departments and subordinate offices in the state.
All the Departments are requested to make available to all offices under its control necessary allotment of fund within the last working day of the financial year 2013-2014 to square off the shortfall under various detailed heads for which bills were passed by the Treasuries/ Pay and Accounts Offices in anticipation of allotment of fund.

The Governor has been pleased to Fix the following rates of interest on loans taken by Government Servants during the year 2011-2012 as follows:
Following types of bills may be passed in anticipation of all allotment of fund for the period up to 30th March, 2012: Salary/ Remuneration/ Wages, Honorarium.
Non-judicial stamp papers purchased from out side jurisdiction or from Kolkata Collectorate shall be accepted only after proper verification of challan etc.
Irregular sanction of 90% withdrawals of G.P.F. balances are being accorded by the different heads of office under the State Govt. resulting in negative balances of the G.P.F. accounts.
Disbursement of salary of and non-teaching employees of Non-Government Aided Colleges will be made on the first working day of the month following the month to which such salary relates.
