The functions of the Finance Department are performed through 5 (five) branches, namely, Audit, Budget, Revenue, Internal Audit and Institutional Finance.

To celebrate the National Doctors’ Day, the State Government has decided to observe 1st July, 2021 (Thursday) as a State Government holiday in all State Government Offices.
Procurement may be undertaken under Rule 47(14) of West Bengal Financial Rules from more than one source simultaneously if the entire quantity required is not available or not immediately available from one source. Such procurement may be made at different rates, if unavoidable.
Employees of the Undertakings/ Statutory Bodies may also be granted an ex-gratia grant of Rs. 4,800/- per head provided their revised emoluments as on 31.03.2022 exceeded Rs. 10,000/- p.m. but did not exceed revised emoluments of Rs. 37,000/- p.m.
The interest rate of 7.1% (Seven point one percent) will be in force during this financial year for the period from 01.04.2024 to 30.06.2024.
Sanction-cum-Allotment Order must be issued along with a reference to the Government Order for according administrative approval and financial sanction.
Accumulation at the credit of the subscribers to General Provident Fund and other similar funds shall carry interest at the rate of 7.1% per annum. The rate will be in force during this financial year for the period from 01.01.2021 to 31.03.2021.
For the flats/ houses which are constructed or to be constructed on a subsequent date i.e. after 31.03.2013 through a Co-operative Housing Society, the benefit under this order may be available, if the registration is done within 24 months from the date of completion of the construction work.
Governor has been pleased to accord sanction of Interest-free festival advance upto a maximum of Rs. 12,000/- only to State Government employees whose revised emoluments on 31st March, 2021 exceeded Rs. 36,000/- p.m. but did not exceeded Rs. 45,000/-p.m.
