Food & Supplies Directorate is mainly responsible for availability and distribution of foodgrains and other essential commodities to the valid ration Card holders.
Primitive tribal groups, workers of closed tea gardens, pavement dwellers of Kolkata, ‘Aila’ affected people, drought affected of Purulia, residents of Darjeeling hill area and inhabitants of Jangalmahal will get food-grains at the rate of Rs. 2/- per Kg.
Seeding and validation of Aadhaar will be done instantly at FPSs through ePoS machine on the basis of Aadhaar based Biometric Authentication. Aadhaar seeding process is started from 22.07.2021 onwards.

Government of West Bengal in F&S Department has decided to participate in nationwide One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) scheme. Through this scheme, NFSA beneficiaries can lift foodgrain anywhere in India through Aadhaar based Biometric Authentication.

Stipulated time limit for rendering the services, the Designated officers responsible for providing the services, the Appellate Officer and the Reviewing Officer in connection with Ration Card.
e-Ration Card facility is available to those beneficiaries who have seeded Aadhaar numbers of all their family members who have Ration Cards. e-Ration Card Number and Digital Ration Card No. will remain same.
The size of the godown should be minimum 400 sq. ft. along with a covered space of 2.00 sq. ft. adjacent to the godown to be used for office purpose and for FPS automation.
